Delivered in 2004, chassis number 136235 was the ninth-to-last 360 Challenge built by Ferrari. It made its debut in the Ferrari Challenge Series at Spa during the same year. From 2006 to 2011, the Ferrari was campaigned regularly in the Danish and Swedish editions of the series and was driven to podium finishes on three occasions.

In its current custodianship, the 360 Challenge was wrapped in blue and white during the summer of 2022 and has been campaigned at track days throughout continental Europe. This includes the Ferrari Challenge and GT Days at the Red Bull Ring in Austria in both 2022 and 2023. The car competed in two events within the Cavallino Classic Cup, first at the Red Bull Ring in June of 2022, where it finished 3rd overall and 1st in class, then later that year in the Cavallino Classic Cup at Misano in October 2022, finishing 2nd overall and 1st in class. A diagnostic computer-sourced mileage reading from October 2023 stated that the car had been driven just 7,163 kilometres by this point.

In July of 2023, €20,306 was spent in servicing with the Ferrari specialist workshop, Toni Auto in Maranello, including a belt service, replacing the rear brake discs, a full fluid flush, and reupholstering the driver’s seat in correct Sabelt fabric. In April 2023, four new Pirelli racing slicks were fitted. The car was granted Ferrari Classiche certification in June 2022, confirming that it is still fitted with its original engine and gearbox. We are delighted to offer this ex-Trottet Racing 2008 Ferrari F430 GTC F131 EVO #2634 for sale.

The Ferrari 430 GTC was introduced in 2006 to replace the 360 GTC and to race in GT2 class in the FIA GT Championship, the American Le Mans Series and the Le Mans 24 Hours. Over the next 5 years, it became Ferraris most successful GT racing car of the late 2000s, both in Europe and the USA, taking multiple GT2 Drivers & Manufacturers titles, plus GT2 class victory and podiums at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Developed in partnership by Corse Clienti and Michelotto Automobili, the 430 GTC was derived from the excellent F430 Berlinetta road car, whilst the cars 90 degree 4-litre V8 produced 450 bhp and was mated to a Hewland manual sequential gearbox and proved most reliable. Only 53 cars were produced in total from 2006 to 2011, with just 24 of these being the later and rare Evoluzione Evo cars. The Evo upgrades included refinements in aerodynamics, suspension, and weight reduction to improve race performance. These changes were more about improving speed and efficiency than altering the car’s physical dimensions.

Our car, with VIN ending on #2634, has an impressive track record and won the 2009 International Open GT Championship with Team Trottet Racing and Swiss drivers Marcel Fssler and Jol Camathias. Between 2008 and 2009, this striking F430 achieved nine pole positions, five times runner-up and twice third place on the podium (detailed race results can be found in the history section below). During this 2-year period, the car was always perfectly maintained by the Trottet racing team in collaboration with Michelotto (invoices available) who also installed the latest developments to acfhieve its 2009 Championship winning ambitions. Since its birth, #2634 has never been badly crashed, is full matching numbers retaining its original body/chassis, engine (077) and gearbox (060), and looks stunning in its striking 2009 Bull fire breathing livery.

At the end of the 2009 season, Trottet Racing stopped its activities and #2634 was sold to a private collector who displayed the car for several years at the Muse de lAutomobile in Monaco. In 2018 it was bought by French historic racer Florent Jean who only used the car sparingly. At the beginning of 2024, the car was bought by its current owner who had the car fully recommissioned for the 2024 season by renown preparer Pastorelli Classic Cars. Since then, #2634 has competed successfully in Peter Autos ERL2 race series where it has shown to be a reliable and front running car. Now offered for sale in 100% race-ready condition with technical passport, two spare sets of wheels and laptop with management software.

First launched in 1993, the Ferrari Challenge has since expanded across four continents to become arguably the most exclusive and prestigious single-make race series in the world. Initially, grids featured Ferrari’s 320-horsepower 348 Challenge model, although this was succeeded by more powerful and technically advanced Challenge variants of the F355, 360 Modena, and F430, in 1995, 2000, and 2006 respectively. Remarkably, by 2011, the fifth-generation 458 Challenge boasted some 570 horsepower and a seven-speed paddleshift-operated gearbox, as well as carbon-fibre bodywork, ABS braking, and traction control.

However, the introduction of Ferrari’s new twin-turbocharged 488 Challenge in 2017 heralded a new era, for it represented the first time the series had embraced forced induction. The new competition derivative retained its roadgoing counterpart’s 3.9-litre V-8 engine in near-standard 670 horsepower form, albeit lightened by 20 kilograms and with its mapping optimised to improve throttle response and power delivery. A seven-speed semi-automatic gearbox employed shorter ratios to aid acceleration, while aerodynamic efficiency was reputedly almost 10 per cent better than that of its predecessor.

While it was the most powerful Ferrari Challenge car ever built, it was in its electronic control systems that the 488 Challenge afforded the most significant technical advances. Ferrari’s Slide Slip Control (SSC) software made its first appearance in a Challenge car, operating in conjunction with an electronic differential and traction control system to improve turn-in, cornering, and acceleration. The latter two elements were driver-adjustable via two steering wheel-mounted Manettino switches; such electronic trickery enabled the new car to lap Ferrari’s Fiorano test track over a second a lap faster than the outgoing 458 Challenge Evo.

In 2020, Ferrari unveiled its 488 Challenge Evo, which was available either as a newly built car or as an update kit for existing chassis. Heavily revised bodywork generated some 50 per cent more downforce than the previous “non-Evo” incarnation, while enhanced SSC, traction control, “E-diff”, and ABS settings permitted a far wider set-up window than had existed previously.

Delivered new to UAE Ferrari importer Al Tayer Motors in 2020, this particular chassis was sold to the consigning owner later that year, remaining in their possession ever since. It contested selected Ferrari Challenge events over 2020 and 2021 in the Middle East, for which preparation responsibilities were entrusted to respected Dubai-based GT team Dragon Racing. Significantly, the relatively short race distances and minimal testing available resulted in the car being used only sparingly—its odometer displays just 3,477 kilometres at the time of cataloguing. Such is the car’s carefully limited use in recent years, bidders are encouraged to have the Ferrari mechanically inspected before returning it to the track.

Offering near-GT3 levels of performance at a fraction of the cost, chassis 251589 is immaculately presented in eye-catching monochrome colours and would be a spectacular addition to the ever-increasing number of recent-era GT events for which it is eligible.
