This Ferrari Modena Challenge was delivered new in Switzerland in February 2002, by the official Ferrari distributor, the garage Zenith S.A., based near Lausanne. Originally black, the car was repainted red and then took part in the Ferrari Challenge European championship in 2002, in the hands of renowned French racing driver Ange Barde. Supremely talented, Barde was crowned French champion 8 times between 1991 and 1999, competing in a Formula Renault, an Alfa Romeo 145 and a Renault Megane amongst others. Between 2000 and 2008 he competed in the Le Mans 24 Hours in a Ferrari three times, has been European champion four times, European runner-up three times and has also won the Ferrari Challenge World championship.

At the end of the 2002 season the car was sold and continued to race in various events. An old FFSA passport from 2007 comes with the car. The current owner acquired it in 2014 and proceeded to wrap the car in Ange Barde’s new team colours. Barde has signed it in several places, notably on the dashboard. The interior is resolutely sporty with a mix of carbon and alcantara, with two superb Recaro seats, Sparco belts and a roll-cage. It has hardly been driven since and, presented in satisfactory condition, the car will require a full service in order to optimise its V8 performance before taking to the track again. The Modena Challenge was one of the last generations of race cars to have an exceptional performance while remaining mechanically accessible and not necessarily needing extensive technical input and assistance to be raced. This 360 Challenge berlinetta represents an excellent investment for a marque collector, given its provenance and well-conserved condition.
