This 1995 Ferrari F355 Challenge was purchased new through Lake Forest Sportscars of Lake Bluff, Illinois and was raced in the 1997 Challenge Series. It is said to be one of 43 examples from the 1995 year of production and was acquired by the seller 18 months ago. Recent cosmetic and mechanical refreshing included a repaint with new period livery decals, a belt and valve service, new brake ductwork, and updated safety equipment. Power comes from a 3.5L DOHC V8 paired to a 6-speed manual transmission, and this F355 Challenge is being offered for sale in California on a bill of sale with documented race history and receipts from the recent engine-out service.

This example comes from the first year of F355 Challenge production and reportedly finished 15th overall in the 1997 Challenge series, with track history at the Texas World Speedway, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, and Lime Rock. It also ran the mid-Ohio SCCA runoffs in 1998.

A recent repaint was finished with some removable vinyl graphics. Yellow-painted five-spoke wheels are wrapped in a set of older racing slicks. New cooling ductwork was added for the F40 brakes.

Interior safety equipment has been updated with FIA-compliant OMP racing seats and Sabelt harnesses. The OMP roll cage and side bars are reportedly removable, and side windows have been installed.

An Autometer tachometer mounted on the instrument bezel includes an oil pressure warning light and shift light, and an Autometer water temperature gauge was added to the three-gauge pod at the center of the dash. 32,562 miles are shown on the odometer, with only 20 miles added during the seller’s ownership.

Engine-out maintenance of the 3.5L DOHC V8 was performed in September 2016 and included a belt and valve service. The Tubi lightweight exhaust system includes a silencer for tracks with noise restrictions. No catalytic converters or headlights are installed, and the car is offered on a bill of sale only.
